ABRA CAADABRA (x Caarabine CS) wins the Sweetheart Distaff Stakes for 4-year-old and up fillies and mares at Los Alamitos (7).

WALK THE LINE (x TF Desert Jewel) wins the Drinkers of the Wind Derby Stakes for 4-year-old colts by 9 lengths. COOL SAND LUKE (x Amelia CS) beats out the rest of the field and finishes 2nd.

WALK THE LINE set a stakes record in Saturday's Grade 1 $75,000 Drinkers of the Wind Derby, while becoming the first California-based horse in eight years to win the prestigious race for Arabian colts and geldings at Los Alamitos.

Covering the 6-furlong distance in 1:17 4/5 with Otto Arriaga aboard, WALK THE LINE smashed the previous Drinkers record of 1:18.78 posted by Arabian Triple Crown winner TH RICHIE in 2005. WALK THE LINE is also the first California campaigner to defend home court since the Billy Lewis-trained CROIXNOIRE in 2000.

A great start for 2008!

ADAAJ ASF (x Princess Atheena), one of two BURNING SAND runners in Qatar, wins the 1400 m Maiden Plate by 5 lengths. This horse is owned by Al Shahania Farm in Qatar.



CAMELLIA (x Calamare), a mare and the second Qatar runner, was also a winner.

Burning Sand International is pleased to announce a newly formed partnership between Richard Englander and Todd Moak Proven Bloodstock as owners of Darley Award winner JOYFUL LOVE. This mare will be bred to BURNING SAND this season. Richard Englander is a two-time thoroughbred Eclipse Award winner. His involvement in Arabian racing began with the acquisition of JOYFUL LOVE in a claiming race at Delaware Park.
